grilled cheese festival

saturday was the day that tay and i wait for all year long

the grilled cheese festival!

the weather was perfect,

the grilled cheeses as good, if not better, than we remembered

i think we counted that we tried over 15 sandwiches

dessert, veggie, breakfast, meaty, one that tasted like an in-n-out burger...

needless to say we had a rainbow of grilled cheese

and at the end we were both bent over, head in our elbows,

stuffed out of our minds...

but allll with complete satisfaction

until next year!

heres a little sneak peak from taylor's furniture business photo shoot last weekend 

in taylor's ex-coworker's fabulous venice home

it was a grand ol' time with miss stella and her little sister lucia (the models)

i miss my boyfriend!

chargrilled pizza

sunday night taylor had a good friend from work over 

to do what we love to do best on the good o'l fashioned barbecue

grill pizza!

taylor's friend is a pro at making bread and dough 

so he brought over all sorts of homemade dough - garlic, wheat, regular...

and his pizza stone

(i must get taylor a pizza stone for his birthday!)

we made a total of three pizzas

pesto, mozzarella and sun-dried tomato 

arrabiata, burrata, mozzarella, and basil

and lastly

arrabiata, mozzarella, portobello mushrooms, spicy chicken sausage and basil

i must say 

we're becoming quite the professionals when it comes to grilled pizzas

what a beautiful weekend it was

temperatures in the mid-70s, sunshine... 

it was a perfect spring weekend to plant a farm!

ever since i was a little kid i wanted my own fruit and vegetable garden

and i'm so excited to start one with tay 

who shares the same passion for gardening as i do.

 we spent easter sunday hopping from one nursery to the next

trying to find the right soil

and during it all

taylor bought [another] new japanese maple... and seeds

and a jasmine plant - my favorite springtime scent

i got some wine crates from the local wine shop (for free!)

and planted strawberries, lettuce, spinach, basil and tomato

to start

i'm sure we'll learn a lot in this process

and i can't wait!

blue bottle

a little blue bottle lovin..

..or rather, obsession!

i'm dedicating a whole post to my beloved s.f. coffee spot

one of the first things i do once i get to s.f. 

is stop by blue bottle just up the street from the hotel taylor and i usually stay at in union square.

the coffee is divine, the interior classic and modern, the food is out of this world!

its my favorite spot to lounge for an hour on an s.f. morning

and that we did!

(and apparently ellen page's favorite, as i was standing right behind her in line!)

my brother and i enjoyed a soy latte... me with an (s) after latte ;)

and taylor a kyoto coffee

which is the strongest coffee i've ever tasted

its like drinking whiskey - you get a total buzz from it!

fun fact:

 blue bottle imported a handblown kyoto coffee maker from japan

its cold brewed coffee with a high concentration of caffeine 

(enough to keep you caffeinated for a whole day!)

aaand it takes 24 hours to make!

this time around i took a little blue bottle home with me 

so that i can enjoy and reminisce over one of my favorite cities
